The team handles both hardware and software development. This includes designing multi-layer printed circuit boards that integrate various sensor modules, such as barometers and inertial measurement units. These hardware systems are paired with embedded programming that implements complex sensor fusion algorithms, providing critical estimates of the rocket’s altitude, velocity, and orientation throughout flight.

Going forward, the Avionics Department aims to keep developing advanced systems that support the innovations of other departments, from recovery and propulsion mechanisms to payload integration.
